Mrs. Henrietta Lott Gibbs, 93, of Fitzgerald, Georgia died Wednesday, May 6, 2009 at her residence.
Funeral services will be held 2 P.M., Saturday, May 9 at the Paulk Funeral Home Chapel in Fitzgerald with Rev. Earlie Holt officiating. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery. Visitation will be held 7-9 Friday evening at the funeral home.
Mrs. Gibbs was born November 3, 1915 in Manchester, Georgia to the late Henry W. and Ella Denham Davis. She moved to Fitzgerald in 1937, graduated from Mt. Carmel School in Crisp County and was a former resident of Atlanta. Mrs. Gibbs received her nurses training from the Ben Hill County Hospital. She was a former LPN for the Ben Hill County Hospital, Dorminy Medical Center and the Life Care Center. Mrs. Gibbs was a member and Sunday school teacher at the Fitzgerald Church Of God. Mrs. Gibbs loved to crochet.
She is survived by a son, Michael Lott of Fitzgerald; ten grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren as well as several nieces and nephews. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Lester D. Lott, a son, Julian Peacock and two sisters, Verna Mae Loyfull and Myrtle Clark.
