Obituary

Henry E. Paul, 90, of Londonderry, NH was born February 20, 1919, and raised in Waverly, New York. Henry joined the Army in 1941. He was stationed at Fort Constitution, Portsmouth, for basic training and Harbor Defense. As the combat progressed in Africa, Henry volunteered for the Infantry. In 1943 he was commissioned Second Lieutenant in the 35th Infantry Division, and began again training for the eventual invasion of France. In June of 1944 he was in the Invasion of France on Normandy Beach and was assigned to General Patton's Army for the duration of combat against the Germans, World War II. Because of combat in France, Belgium, Holland, and the Battle of the Bulge, he was decorated and received the Purple Heart and the Bronze Star. At the end of the War, having received the rank of Captain, he was honorably discharged to start life in New Hampshire. His praise is to God because of the fact that he was protected during the invasion of Normandy, the battle of the Bulge, while serving our country in World War II, and being able to return to a useful civilian life.
He was married to Inez Oliver in 1944, and they raised a family of five children. In Londonderry he became a Selectman for several years and concentrated on establishing zoning, serving on the Board of Adjustment for a number of years. For years he operated the New England Pine Sales in Londonderry and later the Pine Center in Auburn and then the Sherburne Lumber company in Tyngsboro until retirement.
In 1949 Henry Paul became a Christian. His joy was teaching the Bible at the State Reform School. He served on the board of Dublin Christian Academy for nearly 20 years. He was instrumental in reestablishing a girls' home in Manchester - the Boylston Home for Girls. He was involved in Christian camping with New England Fellowship in Rumney. Shortly after, he was invited to serve on the Board of Directors of Bob Jones University, South Carolina. Henry and his wife Inez held a Bible Study in their home, out of which came the church which was formed in Litchfield, New Hampshire, in 1995.
His delight has been in the lives of his children. The oldest, David, with his wife Pat, was missionary and Pastor to the Indians in the North American Mission in British Columbia for several years. He is the father of two children. He and his wife presently reside in Wisconsin where he is the owner of a window business. Debra, the second child of Henry and Inez, is a massage therapist and has raised six children. She and her husband Bill Ridlon live in Maine. Jonathan has served the Lord as Pastor for 20 years in Maine and now is Pastor of a recently formed church in Kingston, New Hampshire. He and his wife Karyl have five children. Daniel is an attorney, teacher of the Bible, and soul-winner in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. He and his wife LeeAnn have eight children. Johanna is the wife of Pastor David Brame in South Carolina. They are the parents of seven children, one being already with the Lord.
Henry's wife Inez passed away in 1994 as a result of being involved in an automobile accident. In 1997 he married Evelyn Bednar, widow of Rev. William Bednar and mother of five. Henry's surviving brother and two sisters (from a family of 12 siblings) are Donald Paul in Sayre, Pennsylvania, Clara Evans of California, and Frances Morse in South Carolina.
