Bessie R. Catania, a longtime resident of West Roxbury, passed away May 5, 2009. She was 87 years old.
Bessie was born in Boston in 1922. She lived a very quiet life, worked hard, and believed strongly in the adage "Early to bed, early to rise..." During World War II she worked in the garment industry, making soldiers' uniforms. She would later work as an asembler for Northrop.
A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated Friday May 8, 2009 in the Chapel of St. Theresa of Avila Church in West Roxbury. Visitation was prior to the Mass at the Kfoury Keefe Funeral Home 8 Spring St. West Roxbury.
