Jesup-Kathy Muse Slone, 56, died Monday, May 4, 2009 at her residence.
She was born in Ft. Bragg, N.C., was raised in Long County, and had lived in Wayne County most of her life. She was a retired Social Worker with Long County DFCS and was previously employed with Boykin Erectors. She was an avid reader and scrapbooker and was a loving wife, mother and granny. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Jesup. She was preceded in death by a son, Michael Oas Passmore, her parents, Samuel & Willie Dawson Muse, and a brother, Mike Muse.
She is survived by her husband, Harry Slone of Jesup; three daughters and sons-in-law, Jackie Bozeman Dean and John, of Jesup, Krystal Trumpower and Trent of Ft. Stewart, and Francis Thornton and Jeremy of K’ville; one son and daughter-in-law, Harry W. Slone and Virginia of Jesup; four sisters, Sandra Williams, Sue and Barry Riner, and Billie Jo and Danny Rice all of Jesup, and Christine Muse of Jefferson; ten grandchildren, Matthew, Chase, Katelyn, Timothy, Mercedes, Jordan, Tyson, Devin, A.J., and Alexia, and several nieces & nephews.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, May 6 at 1:00 P.M. at the James R. Gordon Memorial Chapel of Howard-Jones-Nobles Funeral Home with Rev. Bill Platt and Rev. Doug Ison officiating.
Interment will follow in the Pinecrest Memorial Cemetery.
The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 6 until 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be Ralph Trapnell, Keith Morgan, Jonathan Scott, Jesse Scott, Clifton DeLoach, and Jason Crowe.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Nancy Walters, Elaine Dunham, Amy Westberry, Kristy Dunham, Sally Rollins, Launa Chamberlin, Cathy Atkins, Bonnie Bob and Laura Williams.
