Obituary

Marjorie F. (Magune) Curtis, 93, of 19 Quinapoxet Lane, a homemaker, died Friday, July 4, at home.

Her husband of 54 years, Gordon S. Curtis Sr., died in 1988. She leaves a son, Gordon S. "Don" Curtis Jr. of Columbia, MO; a daughter, Caro B. Cox of Worcester; a sister, Avilla Clarkson of Auburn; 10 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews. A son, Frank E. Curtis; and a brother, Jack Magune, predeceased her. She was born in Worcester, daughter of Frank L. and Mildred (Richards) Magune, and lived here most of her life. She graduated from Classical High School in 1928 and LaSalle College of Newton in 1931.

Mrs. Curtis was a homemaker. She was a member of St. Michael's on the Heights Episcopal Church where she was active in the altar guild, Judith Circle, Vesper Guild, Couples Club, Vicars Aide, Wednesday Morning Group and was a contributor to the annual church fair. She was also a member of the Masonic Athelston Lodge of the Women's Club, the Appalachian Mountain Club, the Red Barn Theater and was on the board of members of the Friends of the Worcester Public Library,

Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, July 8, in St. Michael's on the Heights Episcopal Church, 340 Burncoat St. Burial will be in Rural Cemetery. Calling hours are 7 to 9 p.m. Monday, July 7, in Nordgren Memorial Chapel, 300 Lincoln St. Please omit flowers.
