Obituary

Andrew H. Carbone, Sr., 76, of Salem, NH died Fri. May 1st at the Lahey Clinic in Burlington, MA.

Andy was born and educated in Torrington, CT graduating from Torrington High School. He attended Bryant College and was a student and teacher at Andover Institute of Business. Andy served in the US Army during the Korean War. He retired from Standex International in Salem where he was Data Processing Manager. Andy previously worked as a Manager of Applications for Data General in Southborough, MA.

Andy was a member of St. Joseph’s Church. He was a life member of the VFW Post #8546 in Salem, the Elks Lodge #65 in Lawrence and the American Legion in Salem. Andy was a 4th Degree Knight with the Bishop Peterson Assembly and a 3rd degree Knight with the Bishop Peterson Council # 4442 in Salem. He was a member of the National Assoc. of Accountants, the Men’s Guild at Holy Family Hospital and he was a member and Past President of the Data Processing management Assoc.

Andy enjoyed traveling and wintering in Florida where he liked to walk on the beach. He also enjoyed playing bingo, dancing and having fun with friends. Andy loved spending time with his grandchildren.

His wife of 55 years Elizabeth “Betty” (Ruggiero) Carbone of Salem, NH

Son: Andrew H. Carbone, Jr. & his wife Cyndy of Derry, NH

Brothers: Anthony and William of CT

Sister: Angela Smith of AL

2 Grandchildren: Brian and Wendy Carbone of Derry, NH

Calling hours will be Fri. May 8th from 4 – 8 PM at Douglas & Johnson Funeral Home, 214 Main St., Salem, NH. A Funeral Mass will be Sat. May 9th at 12:30 PM at St. Joseph Church in Salem, NH. Cremation will follow.
