Virginia M. (Johnson) Guarino 97 years of Brockton died Friday May 1, 2009 at West Acres Nursing Home. She was born in Brockton, a daughter of the late Charles and Jennie (Smith) Johnson. She had been a lifelong resident of the city and was a graduate of Brockton High School. Mrs. Guarino had worked at the Egg Auction in Avon, but was primarily a homemaker. She enjoyed cooking, crocheting, singing and playing the ukulele and having her hair and nails done.
She is survived by a son, Joseph Guarino of Brockton, two daughters, Virginia Baker of Walpole and Nettie Johnson of S. Dennis and many grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren.
She was the mother of the late Angelo, Louis Guarino, Jr. and Jennie LaLiberte and sister of the late Myrtle Crealese and Esther Hoxie.
Funeral Service will be held in the Conley Funeral Home, 138 Belmont Street (Rte 123) Brockton Tuesday at 12:30pm with visitation from 11:30am to 12:30pm. Burial in Melrose Cemetery.
