Loretta J. (Cyr) Boisvert, 89, of New Bedford died Friday May 1, 2009 at Our Lady's Haven. She was the wife of the late Roland A. Boisvert, who passed away on February 10, 2006.
Born in New Bedford, the daughter of the late Alexis J. and Blanche (Houde) Cyr, she lived in New Bedford for most of her life.
Mrs. Boisvert was a former president of Le Cotillon, Inc. She was a former member of the Royal Travelers, the Association Canado-Americaine, L'Union Ste. Jean Baptiste, Les Dames Patronesse du Maison Sacré-Coeur, and La Ligue des Presidentes.
Survivors include a niece, Sharon L. Barton of New Bedford; a nephew, Peter C. Cyr of Dayton, Texas; four grandnieces, Jennifer L. Barton-Dutra and her husband Jaymison W. Dutra and children Maranda Joy, Lexi Jayne, and Baron Jaymison Dutra, Melissa A. Barton-Houlihan and her husband Kevin P. Houlihan and children James Barton Souza and Ella Caroline Houlihan, Amy L.C. Demanche and her husband Matthew G. Demanche and children, Mikayla Paige, Carly Taylor, and Maddie Lynn Demanche, and Lara Cyr Souza and her husband Christopher Souza, and a grandnephew, Adrian Boucher and his wife Megan Boucher.
She was the sister of the late Armand J. Cyr and aunt of the late David A. Cyr.
Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday at 9 AM at St. Anthony of Padua Church. Burial will follow in Sacred Heart Cemetery. Visiting hours will be on Monday from 6-8 PM at the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park St., New Bedford.
