Johannah M. (Cleary) Maloney, of Medford, died Wednesday at the Winchester Hospital, after a long illness. She was 74.
Born in Newfoundland, Canada, and raised in East Boston, she was the daughter of the late Edward and the late Margaret (Lynch) Cleary. In her earlier years, she worked with Northeast Airlines. A Medford resident for over 46 years, Johannah was a dedicated wife, mother and friend to many. Always the cornerstone to her family, Johannah managed her husband’s political campaigns throughout the years.
She was the beloved wife of Robert L. Maloney. She was a devoted mother to Gordon J Maloney and his wife Christine of Stoneham, Robert L Maloney Jr. and his friend Kelly Farina, Shawn Maloney and his wife Antonia all of Medford. She was a loving grandmother to Connor, Mollie, Patrick, Shawn and Angelica. She was a dear sister to Theresa Ryan of East Boston, Mary Barker of Winthrop, Margaret Glennon of Weymouth, and Lawrence Cleary of Billerica.
Her funeral will be from the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., Medford, Monday at 8 AM followed by a funeral mass celebrated in the Immaculate Conception Church, 600 Pleasant Street, Malden, at 9 AM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours Sunday 4 thru 8. Services will conclude with burial at Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford.
