Marie C. Castor, a lifelong resident of Charlestown, died on Tuesday, April 28, 2009, at her home in Charlestown after a courageous battle with cancer. She was 55 years old.
Marie was born in Boston on December 24, 1953. She grew up in Charlestown where she attended Boston Public Schools and graduated from Charlestown High School in 1971. Marie worked as a Legal Administrator for Bingham/McCutcher Law Firm in Boston for several years.
Marie is the loving mother of John Feeney of Charlestown. She is the dear companion of Danny Feeney of Charlestown. She is the beloved daughter of the late retired Boston Police Officer John J. Castor and Mary (Herlihy) Castor. She is the devoted sister of Jane Castor of Revere, Marjorie Doyle and her husband Phillip of Virginia Beach, Virginia, Boston Police Officer Philip Castor and his wife Kerry of West Roxbury, the late John J. Castor Jr. and Nancy Froempter. She is the loving aunt of Casey, Caroline, Philip, Jack and Caitlyn. She is the dear friend of Pam Hurley, Kathy Sullivan and Mary Marcella-Carey.
Marie's Funeral will be held on Saturday, May 2, 2009, at 9 a.m. from The Carr Funeral Home, 220 Bunker Hill Street, Charlestown, followed by her Funeral Mass in St. Mary's Church, 55 Warren Street, Charlestown, at 10 a.m. Relatives and friends are invited. Visiting hours will be held on Friday, May 1, 2009, from 4 to 8 p.m. Burial will be at Woodlawn Cemetery, Everett.
