Mr. Cosmo “Gus” Simeone, 95 of Somerville died Tuesday in the Courtyard Nursing Care Center in Medford. He is the husband of Theresa (Ferrone) Simeone with whom he shared more than 66 years of marriage.
Mr. Simeone was born in Brooklyn, NY. the son of the late Paul and Fortunata Simeone. For many years he worked as a spotter in the Garment industry in the field of Dry Cleaning. As a child, times were tough. He survived the great depression and later worked for the former Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC). He loved to cook, and listen to opera. He had a unique love of music and also played the violin. His greatest pleasure came from the time he spent with his beloved wife, family, grand and great grandchildren.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by two daughters: Tina Saunders of Medford, Nicole Sicard and her husband David of Burlington, 7 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. Brother of Salvatore Simeone and his wife Frances of FL.
A funeral mass will be celebrated in St. Clement Church, 71 Warner Street, Medford, Saturday at 9:00 am. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours in the Dello Russo Funeral Home 306 Main Street MEDFORD on Friday from 4-8 pm.
Entombment will be Saturday at 10:15 am in the Holy Cross Chapel Mausoleum, Malden.
