Kathryn Jewel Chandler, 80, of Summerville, died Tuesday, April 28, 2009 at Trident Medical Center.
Funeral Service will be held Friday, May 1, 2009 at 11 o’clock at James A. Dyal Funeral Home Chapel, Summerville. Burial will be private.
Friends may visit at the funeral home from 6 until 8 o’clock Thursday evening.
Flowers will be accepted.
Mrs. Chandler was born June 26, 1928 in Webb, Oklahoma, daughter of the late Milton and Geneva Robinson Kerns. She was a graduate of Camargo High School in Webb, Oklahoma. She enjoyed gardening, sewing and picking strawberries. She retired from the Shriner’s Hospital as a nurses aide and worked for Dorchester Senior Center as a case assessment manager.
Surviving are:
1 daughter and 2 sons: Cynthia Arcady and her husband Michael of Summerville, Harry Bruce Chandler of Cottageville and Jeffrey Chandler of Summerville.
2 grandchildren: Dana Bahr of Greenville and Tricia Renaud and her husband Steve of North Charleston.
7 great grandchildren: Khalil and Kyra of Charlotte, NC, Ashley of North Charleston, Allison, Cameron and Elizabeth of Simpsonville, SC and Chloe of Greenville, SC.
1 sister: Ruth Huskey and her husband Ron of Simpsonville, SC
She was predeceased by her parents, her daughter: Deborah Jones and a granddaughter: Nicole Arcady.
