Antonia T. (Xavier) Silva, 86, of New Bedford died July 5, 2003 at Mariner Health of Southeastern Massachusetts after a long illness.
She was the wife of the late Anthony J. Silva, Sr. and daughter of the late Miguel and Rophina (Lisbon) Xavier.
Mrs. Silva was born in New Bedford and lived in Dartmouth and New Bedford most of her life.
She was a communicant of Our Lady of the Assumption Church.
Survivors include 6 sons, Joseph A. Silva, Sr. of Marion, Edward A. Silva of Dartmouth, Michael Silva, Frank E. Silva, Anthony J. Silva, Jr. and James E. Silva, all of New Bedford; a sister-in-law, Maria Xavier of New Bedford; 23 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren, many great-great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews.
She was the mother of the late Anna Marie Gomes and sister of the late Mary Soares, Mary Antunes and Antone Xavier.
