Obituary

DRACUT - Thomas B. Beattie, 87, of Dracut, formerly of Tewksbury for many years, died peacefully Sunday morning April 26, 2009 surrounded by his family. He was the husband of the late Dorothy L. (Sutton) Beattie.

Born in Medford on April 7, 1922, he was the son of the late Thomas B. and Margaret F. (Bell) Beattie. He received his education in the Somerville school system. He was a graduate of Lowell Technical College and he was a licensed electrician.

An honorably discharged veteran, he served his country during World War II as a member of the United States Army Air Corps.

Prior to his retirement, Mr. Beattie had been employed for many years as a Facilities Manager by E.G. and G. in Salem, Massachusetts.

He was a communicant of St. Williams Church in Tewksbury.

In his free time he enjoyed playing golf and cherished time spent in the company of his family.

Surviving him are three daughters Judy Harris and her husband Joe of New Port Richey, FL, Pattie Watkins and her husband Bill of Dracut and Joan Aggott also of Dracut; eight grandchildren Brad Watkins, Elizabeth Aggott, Jill Aggott, Brittany Aggott and Brooke Aggott all of Dracut, Michelle McRoberts and her husband Phil, Michael Harris and his wife Terri and Brian Harris and his wife Deanne all of Merrimack, NH; seven great grandchildren; a sister-in-law Marie Mann of Tewksbury; and several nieces and nephews. He was also the father-in-law of the late Ed Aggott.

Friends may call at DRACUT FUNERAL HOME 2159 Lakeview Avenue, DRACUT on Friday from 4 until 7 PM His Funeral will be held from the funeral home on Saturday at 7:45 AM followed by his Funeral Mass celebrated at 9 AM in St. Williams Church, Tewksbury. Interment in Tewksbury Cemetery, Tewksbury.
