Sean W. Collins, 41, passed away at the Boston Medical Center on Friday April 24th, 2009. He was born in Melrose on August 15th, 1967 to his parents Lawrence and Jean (Upton) Collins. Sean was raised and educated in Malden, graduating from Malden High School in 1985. He is a retired United States Postal Worker who worked in the general mail facility in South Boston. Sean was an avid sports fan. He enjoyed spending time watching the New England Patriots and on occasion would travel to watch the games in person. Sean volunteered his time by serving as a coach for Malden Babe Ruth Baseball. He was a parishioner at Immaculate Conception Parish in Malden and enjoyed spending countless hours in the sun at Fellsmere Pond in Malden. Sean is the loving father of Deanna Collins of Medford; the cherished son of Lawrence and Jean (Upton) Collins of Malden; the dear brother of Lawrence Collins and his wife Millie of Malden, Kevin Colllins and his wife Dawn of Dedham and Theresa Collins and her companion Richard Hallisey of Malden; the cherished uncle of Stephen, Kurtis, Frank, Charlie, Nina, Robert, Aidan and Paul; and the former husband of Maria (Galvin) Hardy of Medford. Relatives & friends are invited to attend his funeral from the Breslin Funeral Home, 610 Pleasant St., Malden on Thursday April 30th at 8 AM followed by a Mass of Christian Burial celebrated at Immaculate Conception Church, 600 Pleasant St., Malden at 9 AM. Services will conclude with burial in Holy Cross Cemetery in Malden. Visiting hours will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday April 29th from 4-8 PM.
