Obituary

of Westwood formerly of Brighton April 25, 2009.Beloved husband of Marguerite (Tramontozzi). Devoted father of 5 children and their spouses Marguerite and Stephen Poreda, Joan and David Kittridge, Nancy and David Quartz, Maureen and David Kocot, Thomas and Lisa Raffio. Predeceased by infant daughter Carol. Also survived by 11 grandchildren Theresa, Bradley and Blake Poreda, Michael and his wife Monica and Benjamin Kittridge, Louis and David Kocot, Jenna, Matthew, Brian and Gabrielle Raffio.

Funeral from the Lehman & Reen Funeral Home Thursday April 30th at 8am. Funeral Mass in St. Columbkille Church at 9 am. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. Visiting Hrs. Wednesday April 29th from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. Interment Newton Cemetery.

Navy Veteran WW II. Graduate of Brighton High School 1943, Northeastern University BA 1952 and MBA 1956. Certified Public Accountant for Commonwealth of Massachusetts, Telephone Workers’ Credit Union and Brighton Cooperative Bank. Past Chairman of Mass. Share Insurance Corporation (MSIC), Past Chairman of Central Credit Union Fund, Past President and Treasurer Society of Savings and Loan Controllers, and Young Executive Club Cooperative Banks, Past Vice President and Treasurer Cooperative Bank Club of MA, Member of National Society of Public Accountants, MA Association of Public Accountants, MA Society of Independent Accountants, Brighton-Allston-Brookline Lions Club, Weston Lions Club, American Legion Post 363, Disabled American Veterans, Allston-Brighton YMCA, Newton District Holy Name Society, St. Columbkille Holy Name Society, Sigma Epsilon Rho Honor Society, United Ostomy Association of Boston, Heart Fund, United Community Services, Coalition of Digestive Diseases and Brighton District Court Advisory Committee.

Mr. Raffio received a Presidential Appointment to the National Commission on Digestive Diseases 1977-1979, National Digestive Diseases Advisory Board 1981 and the National Institute of Health 1981.
