Ruth (Hindle) Moniz, 76, of Westport passed away Saturday, April 25, 2009 at Charlton Memorial Hospital after a long illness. She was the wife of Antonio F. Moniz, in June they would have celebrated their 56th wedding anniversary.
Born in Fall River, daughter of the late James and Esther (Eccleston) Hindle and step-daughter of the late Isaac Cunningham, she had lived in Westport for the past 12 years. She was co-owner / operator of R & M Manufacturing of Fall River with her husband. Mrs. Moniz enjoyed gardening, beaches, going out to eat, trips to casinos and traveling and was a member of the Royal Travelers of Fall River.
Including her husband, survivors include 4 daughters: Debra J. Medeiros of Westport, Susan P. DaPonte of Tiverton, Pamela J. McKenna of Swansea and Lisa A. Schreiner of Rehoboth; 6 grandchildren: Jillian, Jessica A., Jessica M., Joshua, Alison and Nathan; a great granddaughter: Mallory; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral to which relatives and friends are invited will be Wednesday, April 29, 2009 from the Potter Funeral Home at 8:30 A.M. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at Holy Trinity Church, Tiverton at 10:00 A.M.
Calling hours Tuesday 2 - 4 & 6 - 8 P.M.
Interment in Beech Grove Cemetery, Westport.
