Hermano "Armand" Carvalho, 72, of New Bedford died July 2, 2003 unexpectedly at St. Luke's Hospital
He was the former husband of Cynthia (Carreau) Ferreira and son of the late Hypolito and Maria (Medeiros) Carvalho.
Mr. Carvalho was born in New Bedford and lived in New Bedford most of his life. He lived in Florida for 10 years.
He was formerly employed as a self-employed painter in Boston and New Bedford.
Mr. Carvalho served in the US Army during the Korean War. He enjoyed fishing.When someone met him, they never forgot him.
Survivors include a son, Eric A. "PeeWee" Carvalho of New Bedford; 2 daughters, Karen Deshaies, and her husband Paul, and Susan Sinagra, and her husband Guy Sinagra, Jr., all of New Bedford; a brother, Daniel Carvalho of New Bedford; 2 sisters, Tilly Costa of Dartmouth and Irene Medeiros of New Bedford; 7 grandchildren, Laci, Jenna, Jaida, Erik, Gunner, Halie and Tucker; 1 great-granddaughter, Ari Ragin; several nieces and nephews.
He was the grandfather of the late Jarred Sinagra and brother of the late Brazlina Medeiros, Hazel Ambrose, William Medeiros and Frank Medeiros.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his Funeral Service at the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park St., New BedfordTuesday, July 8th at 11 AM.
Visiting hours Monday, July 7th from 7-9 PM.
Interment Pine Grove Cemetery.
