LAWLOR, John- Of Chelsea, unexpectedly, April 23rd, Devoted husband of Barbara (Kowalski). Beloved father of Christine Sartorelli and her husband Paul of Lynnfield and John W. Lawlor and his wife Elena of Peabody. Loving brother of Robert Lawlor of Bellingham, WA, Shauneen Grafton of Melrose and the late Dennis Lawlor. Cherished grandfather of Paul III, Joseph, Andrew and Crighton. Also lovingly survived by many nieces and nephews. Family and friends are kindly invited to attend a Funeral from the Smith Funeral Home, 125 Washington Avenue, CHELSEA on Monday, April 27 at 8 AM followed by a Funeral Mass celebrated in Our Lady of Grace Church, 59 Nichols Street, Chelsea at 9 o'clock. Visiting Hours in the Smith Funeral Home on Sunday from 4-8 PM. Services will conclude with interment at Woodlawn Cemetery. A lifelong, well known Chelsea resident, John, at 70 years of age, passed away unexpectedly Thursday afternoon at the Whidden Memorial Hospital in Everett, after valiant efforts where made to revive him after he suffered a heart attack at home.
Early in his carrer, he worked for Northeast Petroleum, as management for the Bradlee's Corporation on the set up and opening of the firms new stores, and lastly as the City of Chelsea Parking Clerk, a position he held for 10 years retiring in June of 2005.
