Obituary

Salem: Philip E. Carroll age 75 of Salem, died Wednesday, April 22, 2009 at the Kaplan Family Hospice House in Danvers following a long illness. He was the husband Kathleen C. (Maynard) Carroll with whom he shared 33 years of marriage.

Born and raised in Salem, he was the son of the late Arthur J. and Lena (Sirois) Carroll. Phil was a graduate of Salem High and served with the U.S. Marine Corps from 1953 through 1960. During those years he served both stateside and in Germany. Following his tour of duty, he returned to Salem and worked in shipping and receiving for the Cressey & Dockham Company located in Salem at the time. The company was sold to the Weatherly Corporation and moved to Andover from which Phil retired in 1991.

Phil was an avid outdoors man who loved hunting and golf. He was a member of the Loyal Order of Moose Salem Lodge.

In addition to his wife Kathleen, he is survived by a brother, Donald F. Carroll of Sperryville, VA, a sister, Joan M. Carroll of Salem, 2 sons Michael Carrol of Texas and Steven Carrol of Florida, a daughter Susan Carroll of Salem, 2 nephews, Edward & James Carroll both of Virginia. He was predeceased by his sister, Lucille Martel.

Relatives and friends are invited to his funeral service on Monday, April 27, 2009 at 9:30 a.m. in the Levesque Funeral Home, 163 Lafayette St. [Rt. 114 / 1-A] Salem. Visiting hours: Sunday 4 to 8 pm. Burial will be in Greenlawn Cemetery, Salem.
