Joseph Anthony Gonsalves, III, age 22 of Swansea. Son of Joseph Anthony Gonsalves, Jr. born in Lagos, South of Lisbon, Portugal and Ana Isabel (Arruda) Gonsalves born in Sao Braz, Sao Miguel, Azores. Passed away in Fall River, April 20, 2009. He was a lifelong Swansea resident, a member of St. Francis of Assisi, the former Our Lady of Fatima Church in Swansea. He was a Driving Instructor at the Academy Driving School in Fall River and Top Driver Driving School in RI. He aspired to be a Music Producer, he greatly loved his nieces and nephews, he loved reciting the bible and was served in the U.S. Marine Corps from 2005-2008.
Besides his mother and father of Swansea, he is survived by 7 sisters & brothers: David Gonsalves of Central Falls, RI; Christopher Gonsalves and his wife Lynn of Westport; Nancy Machado & her husband Joseph of Assonet; Brian Correia and Amy, Jay Correia & his wife Kelli, Kevin Gonsalves and Courtney Da Costa and her husband Steven, all of Fall River and many nieces and nephews. He was uncle of Jacklyn and Daniel Gonsalves, Mikayla, Briana & Tyler Correia, Monica and Marissa Machado, Alexia Gonsalves & Caeleb Da Costa. He was great uncle of Kylee Lynn Couture. He also leaves many aunts & uncles in Fall River, Canada, Portugal and Seattle, WA, many Cousins in Portugal along with many, many friends.
His funeral will take place from the Manuel Rogers & Sons Funeral Home, 1521 N. Main St. SATURDAY at 8:45 A.M. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Francis of Assisi Church at 10:00 A.M. Interment in Notre Dame Cemetery. Calling hours FRIDAY 3-9 P.M.
