Georgette L. Giroux, 85, formerly of New Bedford passed away on April 17, 2009 in Cape Coral, Florida after a long illness. She was the daughter of the late Joseph Alphonse Gendron and Marie (Proulx) Gendron.
She was the widow of Raymond Giroux. They were married for 40 years until his passing in 1982.
Mrs. Giroux was employed by Economy Blouse Manufacturing for many years until its closing. She was also employed as a Pharmacy Technician at St. Luke’s Hospital until her retirement.
She is survived by a daughter, Diane Crowley of Cape Coral, Florida, two grandsons, Timothy A. Crowley of West Bridgewater, MA. and Mark C. Crowley of Londonderry, NH. and four great grandsons. She also leaves behind a sister, Jeannette (Gendron) Sylvia, two brothers, Joseph Raymond Gendron and Roland Gendron and many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by two sisters, Lydia Goulet and Grace Lebeau and two brothers, Armand Gendron and Eleodore (Pete) Gendron.
Her private Funeral Mass was held Thursday, April 23rd in Holy Name of the Sacred Heart of Jesus Church. Burial followed in Pine Grove Cemetery.
