Johnnie Smith Brantley
AUGUSTA, Ga. – Entered into rest Tuesday, April 21, 2009, at Doctors Hospital, Mrs. Johnnie Smith Brantley, 86, wife of William T. Brantley.
Mrs. Brantley was born in Davisboro, Georgia, and lived most of her life in Augusta.
She worked at Gracewood State School and Hospital, but was a devoted homemaker. She was a member of Cokesbury United Methodist Church.
Family members in addition to her husband include sons: Walter Brantley and wife Sheryl of Evans, Wade Brantley of Martinez, and David Brantley and wife Priscilla of Pine Mountain , Georgia; grandchildren: Jennifer and husband Rod Goins, Rebecca Brantley, Melissa and husband Matt Bargeran, Matthew Brantley, Meagan and husband Bobby Little; 4 great- grandchildren; brother: Dr. George W. Smith and wife Carolyn of Hodgenville, Kentucky; and sister: Mae Prosser of Davisboro, Georgia.
Graveside services will be held Friday, April 24, 2009 at 3:00 P.M. in Hillcrest Memorial Park with Dr. George Smith officiating.
