Daisy Stack Langford, 84, left this world to be with her heavenly Father on April 22, 2009. She died peacefully with her two daughters at her side at her home where she had resided for 53 years. She was born in the Stroudsville community on March 24, 1925 to the late Alfred Stack and late Cassie Stack. She leaves behind husband, George Harold Langford, who she was married to for 61 years. Survivors also include two daughters, Debbie (Philip) Holt and Constance (Charles) Gray, a sister, Lucy Stack Hughes, a half-sister, Neoma Broadrick, four grandchildren, Jason (Melissa) Holt, Robert Matthew Griffey, Jay McKenzie, Jack Gray, and two great-grandchildren, Blake and Morgan Holt. She was a life-long member of Stroudsville Church of Christ. In her early years she worked as a waitress and later at B.F. Goodrich where she finally quit to stay home and raise her daughters. When her children were grown, she began babysitting for family members which expanded to keeping children of friends and she retired at the age of 80. She loved baking cakes and baked jam cakes and coconut cakes, but she was also known for her caramel cakes which were a hit where ever she went. The celebration of her life will be Thursday 4 to 8 p.m. at Neal-Tarpley Funeral Home and the funeral will be Friday at 11 a.m.at Neal-Tarpley Chapel with Brother Richard Logan officiating. Visitation will begin at 9 a.m. Burial will be in Resthaven Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Jason Holt, Robert Griffey, Jay McKenzie, James Barnett, Jason Barnett, and Ray Johnson.
