ALLSTON: Robert S. “Rob” McCurdy, Jr., 29, formerly of Gloucester, died unexpectedly at his residence on Friday, April 17, 2009.
Born in Gloucester on October 19, 1979, he was the son of Jamillia (Saahir) McCurdy of Gloucester and the late Robert S. McCurdy. He was a graduate of the Gloucester High School class of 1997.
Rob had worked as a cook a numerous restaurants in Gloucester including Valentino’s and Dominos. He had also worked as a delivery person for Shaw’s Market. Most recently, he was the dining room manager at Emmanuel College in Boston.
He was a computer wiz, who enjoyed music and loved to dance. He was also an amusement park enthusiast and loved to visit Six Flags.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by his brother and sister-in-law, Timothy and Carolyn Roberts, two nieces, Amber and Tamera Roberts, many aunts, uncles and cousins. He also leaves behind many dear friends.
His funeral service will be held in the Pike-Grondin Funeral Home, 61 Middle Street, Gloucester Friday morning at 11 a.m. Visitation will be held prior to the service from 9 - 11 a.m. Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend. Please omit flowers. Expressions of sympathy may be made in his memory to his family.
