WORCESTER - Edmond "Moon" E. Lavoie, 86, formerly of 4 Hacker Court died Thursday, July 3 in the Meadows of Leicester Nursing Home after an illness.
His wife Corinne (Deshaies) Lavoie died in July of 2002. He leaves a daughter Christine Donaldson of Cherry Valley; a sister Sr. Doris Lavoie S.S.A. of Worcester; 2 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Mr. Lavoie was born in Worcester son of Edward T. and Rose (Robillard) Lavoie.
He was a member of Holy Name of Jesus Church, the Electronic Technicians Guild of Massachusetts, where he was past president of the Worcester Chapter from 1967 to 1968. He loved Cape Cod, Fishing and Deer Hunting. He was an avid reader.
Mr. Lavoie went to the Civil Conservations Camps (CC Camps) as a young man during the Great Depression.
Mr. Lavoie was a machinist for many years at Leicester Tool & Die Company, retiring in 1982.
The funeral will be held on Monday, July 7 from the Alfred Roy & Sons Funeral Home (www.Royfuneral.com) 12 Hammond Street with a mass at 10 AM in Holy Name of Jesus Church, 53 Illinois Street. Burial will be in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. Calling hours are Sunday, July 6 from 6 to 8 PM in the funeral home.
