Martinez, GA – Versey Ann Haywood Daniel, 70, went home to the Lord on Sunday April 19, 2009 at University Hospital.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM on Wednesday April 22, 2009 at Damascus Baptist Church with Rev. Joe Hester and Rev. Bill Seaman officiating. Interment will follow at Bellevue Memorial Gardens.
Ann is survived by her son; Kenneth Daniel Jr. (Faye), her daughter; Tammy Miller Savage (Jimmy), and four grandsons; Joshua Daniel, Tanner Miller, Zack Savage, and Josh Savage. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband; Kenneth Daniel Sr., her parents; Wesley and Myrtice Haywood, her sister; Betty Walden, her brother; Benny Haywood and son-in-law; Troy Savage.
Ann worked for Stapleton Garment Company and Sibley Mill, Graniteville Division. Ann and her husband delivered newspapers for the Augusta Chronicle for 13 years. Mom was a loving mother who adored her grandchildren. She will be missed and our heart aches, but we are also rejoicing in her homegoing. She was an avid NASCAR fan with Dale Earnhardt Sr. and Dale Earnhardt Jr. being her favorite drivers. Mom is finally at home with the Lord and her family where she is celebrating.
Pallbearers will be her grandsons, Josh Daniel, Tanner Miller, Zack Savage, Josh Savage, her nephews, Clay Walden, Charles Walden, and her long time friend, Jimmy Kitchens.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday April 21, 2009 from 7:00 PM until 9:00 PM at the funeral home.
