Clifton Edgar Smith, 85, passed away April 19, 2009. He was born to the late Callie Jefferson and Dora Louisa Shepherd Smith in Cold Hill, AR. He retired from Holley Carburetor in Water Valley, MS. He was member of O’Tuckalofa in Yalobusha County, MS and the local VFW.
The visitation will be held Tuesday, April 21, 2009 from 2 to 3 pm at Seven Oaks Funeral Home in Water Valley, MS. The funeral service will be held in Henry Chapel of Seven Oaks Funeral Home at 3:00 pm on Tuesday, April 21, 2009 with Rev. Raymond Aven and Bro. Ronnie Crenshaw. The committal will be held in Oak Hill Cemetery in Water Valley, MS with Roy Cobern, Troy Cobern, Eddie Magee, Carl Massey, Casey Washington, and Wayne Hatfield serving as pallbearers.
Mr. Smith is survived by his loving and beautiful wife of 65 years, Lalah Inmon Smith of Water Valley, MS; son, Larry Edgar Smith (Melissa Jo) of Water Valley, MS; daughter, Lowedia Doolin (Robert); sister, Hazel Kinkennon of Water Valley, MS; brothers Clarence Smith and James Smith both of Water Valley, MS; grandchildren, Lara Leigh Sossaman (Billy W.) of Batesville, MS and Melissa Morgan “Missy” Smith of Southaven, MS; and great grandchildren, Addison Taylor and Ethan Garrett Sossaman.
Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Garry Dale Smith; brother, Clinton Smith; and sister Jessie Alline Collins.
