Eleanor M. (Boyden) McCoubrey, 96, of Norton passed away peacefully on Sunday April 19, 2009 at home surrounded by her adoring family. She was the beloved wife of the late Burnam L. McCoubrey, Sr. who died on December 1, 1991.
Born in Walpole, MA on November 11, 1912 she was a daughter of the late William and Mary Jane (Owens) Boyden.
She grew up in Walpole, was educated in Walpole public schools and was a graduate of Walpole High School.
Mr. McCoubrey was a retired salesperson having worked for Jordan Marsh in Boston for 15 years prior to retiring.
A member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witness’ in Mansfield, Eleanor enjoyed spending time with her loving family and she was affectionately known to them as “GG”
Mrs. McCoubrey was also an avid traveler and had made her home in Norton for the past 37 years and was formerly of Canton, Norwood and Walpole.
She was the loving mother of George R. McCoubrey, Sr. of Norton and the late Burnam L. McCoubrey, Jr. Mrs. McCoubrey is also survived by her daughter in law Theresa McCoubrey of Attleboro, her cherished grandchildren Cheryl Ann Widdiss of Norton, George R. McCoubrey, Jr. of New Hampshire, Lori Blye of Norton and Lee McCoubrey of Attleboro, her loving great grandchildren Amy, Kristen, Marissa, Lyndsay, Aron, Brianna, Jillian and Molly, her dear great-great grandchildren Nicole, Ava, Brett, Rylie and Dylan. She was pre-deceased by 7 brothers and 1 sister and is also survived by her devoted caregivers Lolo, Denise and Lisa.
Graveside services, to which relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend, will be held on Thursday April 23rd at 11: 00 A.M. at Knollwood Memorial Park in Canton.
Services will also be held on Saturday April 25th at 10:00 A.M. in the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witness’ 6 School St. Mansfield.
