Mrs. Adelina Martiniello, 78 of Medford died Sunday at her home in Medford. She was the wife of Carmine Martiniello with whom she shared more than 50 years of marriage. Mrs. Martiniello was born in Italy, the daughter of the late Pasquale and the late Maria Presca (Martiniello) Martiniello. In earlier years, she was a Candy Maker, employed from 1970-1980 at the former Schrafft’s Candy in Charlestown. She later worked at Necco Candy in Cambridge from 1980 until her retirement in 1992. She was a devout communicant of St. Clement Church. She loved to cook, dance travel and go for long walks. Her greatest joy came from her beloved grandchildren who affectionately called her “Nonna”. In addition to her husband, she is survived by a son John Martiniello and his wife Roberta of Reading, two daughters: Lina Regan and her husband Teddy of Stoneham, Anna McHardy and her husband Patrick of Andover. Loving grandmother of Danny, John Jr. & Olivia, Matrtiniello; Michael And Brendan Regan; Patrick And Amanda McHardy. She also leaves a sister: Angelina Martiniello of Italy, 2 brothers: Antonio Martiniello of Australia and Giuseppe Martiniello of Italy. Sister of the late Alessio, Ecolina & Guilia Martiniello.
Her funeral will be held from the Dello Russo Funeral Home 306 Main St. MEDFORD on Wednesday at 9 AM. A funeral mass will be celebrated in St. Clement Church, 71 Warner Street, Medford, 10 AM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend, Visiting hours Tuesday 4-8 pm. Burial will follow in the Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford.
