Obituary

SALEM - Edward J. Chemelski, 90 of Salem, died Thursday, April 9, 2009 at the Beverly Hospital following a short illness.

Born in Gloversville, New York, he was the son of the late John and Caroline (Ludwin) Chemelski. He was raised and educated in Salem and was a graduate of Salem High School, where he played football.

Mr Chemelski was a Navy veteran of WWII, served as a member of the Seabees and attained the rating of SF3c.

He was a master plumber and owned and operated Edward J. Chemelski Plumbing and Heating in Salem from 1952 until his retirement in the late 1980's.

He was a proud member of the Knights of Columbus, Veragua Council #76 in Salem and his passions also included boating and golf. He was a member of the United Shoe Golf Club in Beverly.

He is survived by his wife, Regina (Miaskiewicz) Chemelski of Salem, one son, Bruce Chemelski of Biddeford, ME, two grandchildren, Benjamin Chemelski of Portland, ME, Meghan Chemelski of Colchester, VT and one nephew.

A private funeral service will be held at the convenience of the family. Arrangements by the Full-Spychalski Funeral Home, 84 Washington Square East, by Salem Common, Salem.
