SALEM- James M. Harrison, 51, of Summer Street, Salem, husband of Susan D. Wood, died Tuesday morning, Nov. 21, 2000 in the V.A. Medical Center, Boston following a short illness.
Born in Vincennes, Indiana, he was the son of Adelaide (Triana) Harrison of Indian Harbor Beach, Florida and the late C. Carr Harrison.
He owned and operated Harrison & Wood as a self employed contractor for over 15 years, doing carpentry and remodeling.
He was a Vietnam Era Veteran and served in the U.S. Coast Guard.
Mr Harrison was a resident of Salem for 19 years and was a member of the First Universalist Church, Salem and was a loving father.
Besides his wife of 13 years and his mother, he is survived by two daughters, Maureen E. Harrison and Rachel A. Harrison, both of Salem, a step-son, Alex Kerr of New York City, NY, one brother John D. Harrison of Lowell, one sister Carol Stoltzfus of Converse, Texas one niece, one nephew and his two cats, Billy and Emma. He was predeceased by a brother, Robert Harrison.
A Memorial service will be held on Sunday, November 26, 2000 at 2 PM at The First Universalist Church, 211 Bridge St., Salem. Relatives and friends respectfully invited. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Crombie Street Mission, 7 Crombie St., Salem, MA 01970, the Hospice of the North Shore, 10 Elm St., Danvers, MA 01923 or to the First Universalist Society, 211 Bridge St., Salem MA 01970.
