Obituary

Paul Richard Dunn, 45, of Tifton died Saturday, April 18, 2009, at Tift Regional Medical Center of a sudden heart attack. Funeral services will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday, April 21, 2009, at Omega Baptist Church. Dr. Terrell Ruis, and Rev. Terry Smith will officiate with burial to follow in Omega Cemetery. Chad Dunn, Duane Wetherington, Gene Lott, Eric Nichols, Justin Golden and Aaron McBrayer will serve as pallbearers. The family will receive friends on Monday, April 19, 2009, from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. at Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals.

Mr. Dunn was born on May 11, 1963 in Tifton and was the son of Dorothy Golden Dunn of Omega and the late Charles Dunn. He was currently a certified master plumber at ABAC and a member of Omega Baptist Church. He proudly served as a nuclear submarine welder with the United States Navy from 1982-1988, assigned both to the Pacific Fleet and King’s Bay Submarine Base. He was a service-connected disabled veteran and a member of the Georgia DAV, Chapter 38 in Tifton, where he served as Jr. Vice Commander. He graduated from Moultrie Tech as a master plumber and had lived all of his life in Tift County.

In addition to his mother, Mr. Dunn is survived by his wife, Mary Goodemote Dunn of Tifton; one daughter, Perrin Price of Tifton; four brothers and two sisters-in-law, David Dunn of Omega, Tommy Dunn of Omega, Robert W. and Lisa Dunn of Tifton and Tim and Kathy Dunn of Tifton; two sisters and one brother-in-law, Charlotte and Terry Nichols of Tifton and Joy Elliott of Tifton; and numerous nieces and nephews.
