On April 18th Andrew Daigle went home to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. He was the son of the late Andrew and Marguerite Daigle. He leaves behind his beloved wife Annette.
Born in New Bedford, Mass, he was employed at St Johns Nursing Home in his early years and later retired from many years work at Dunkin Donuts, on Nauset St. where he literally greeted thousands of customers with “Praise the Lord”. Andrew was a humble man filled with love for every person he encountered. You could not be in his presence but for a few moments and not smile or feel his warmth. He loved God more than life itself, and it was reflected in his very presence.
Andrew was a loving father to his children Suzanne Howard and her husband Michael, Robert and his wife Deborah, Bernadette Daigle, Louis Daigle and his wife Susan and Aline Daigle and her partner Ron Costa, his sisters Rosetta, and Anita Daigle, and a step son Eric. Andrew was also a father figure to many of the young people in Presidential Heights, where he raised his family, especially Michael, Chris, and Gary Spoor. He was very active at Emmaus Christian Church for years and considered it his Home. He was also involved, in the prison ministry for over 20 years, faithfully attending twice a week. A man of few means he possessed riches beyond compare. Andrew leaves a legacy of love to not only his children but to his 15 grandchildren and his 26 great grandchildren all of whom loved him dearly from the oldest to the youngest.
He was also brother to the late Roger, Henry, and Donald Daigle.
Andrews’ life reflected MICAH6:8 “He has showed me, O man, what is good; and what the Lord requires of me, but to do justly, and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with our God.” In lieu of flowers we are sure that Andrew would want you to find a quiet spot and sit with your Bibles open to the Gospel of John and read….
And when you think of Andrew we want you to smile.
“Well done my good and faithful servant.”
Visiting hours Tuesday, April 21st from 5-9 PM in the Saunders-Dwyer Home For Funerals, 495 Park St. New Bedford.
