New Bedford - Elda (Nichols) Medeiros, age 87, died Friday, April 17, 2009 at home surrounded by her family. She was the wife of the late Joseph A. Medeiros Sr. Mrs. Medeiros was the mother of Theresa Lucas, Barbara Swire both of New Bedford, Sandra La Plante of Raynham, Patricia Costa of Acushnet and Robin Marie Crail of Forest City, NC and the late Joseph A. Medeiros Jr. Elda was the sister of Theresa Roderiques of Fairhaven, Anthony Nichols of New Bedford and Betty Viera of Dartmouth. She is also survived by 12 grandchildren, several great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Medeiros was a daughter of the late Theresa (Costa) Nichols. Elda was born in Taunton and lived in this area all of her life. Mrs. Medeiros was an assembler at the Acushnet Company
Mrs. Medeiros’ Funeral arrangements are by the Perry Funeral Home, 111 Dartmouth St. Her Visiting Hours will be Monday from 4-6 P.M. PLEASE OMIT FLOWERS. In accordance with her wishes she will be cremated.
