Mrs. Helen Paulk Murray, 97, of Ocilla died Thursday, April 16, 2009 at the Irwin County Hospital.
Funeral services will be held 2 P.M., Sunday, April 19 at the Ocilla United Methodist Church with Rev. Scott Brenton officiating. Interment will follow in the Ocilla Cemetery. Visitation will be held 7-9 Saturday evening at the funeral home in Ocilla.
Mrs. Murray was born July 6, 1911 in Ocilla, Georgia to the late D.H. and Mittie Berry Paulk. She lived in the community all of her life. Mrs. Murray attended Andrew College in Cuthbert and received her teaching degree from Wesleyan College in Macon in 1932. She taught English at schools in Ocilla and Mystic. Mrs. Murray was a member of the Ocilla United Methodist Church. She was an avid Bridge player.
She is survived by her daughter: Patricia Murray Billotte of Ocilla; grandsons, Bob Billotte of Ocilla and Bill (Kelly) Billotte of Alexandria, VA and 3 nephews. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Guy H. Murray and two brothers, Elmer & Emory Paulk.
