Robert A. Linari, 72

Dateline: Mansfield, MA

Robert A. Linari, 72, a lifelong resident of Mansfield passed away on Wednesday April 15, 2009 at the Sturdy Memorial Hospital in Attleboro. He was the beloved husband of Heike G. (Becher) Linari to whom he was wed to on April 16, 1966.
Born in Attleboro, MA on September 30, 1936 he was a dear son of the late Angelo A. and Victoria C. (Copparini) Linari.
Bob grew up in Mansfield, was educated in Mansfield public schools and was a 1954 graduate of Mansfield High School. He went on to graduate from Burdett College and following graduation he joined the United States Navy in September of 1958 and proudly served his country aboard the U.S.S. Shangrila before being honorably discharged in September of 1960 with the rank of Seaman. Following his discharge from the Navy he returned to school and graduated from Curry College.
Mr. Linari was a retired Purchasing Manager. He began his career at the Foxboro Co. where he worked for over 25 years before retiring and later was employed for over 15 years at GTECH in Warwick, R.I. before retiring. He was a member of the Foxboro Co. 25 year club and enjoyed attending company gatherings and reminiscing with his former co-workers.
Bob relished the times spent with his loving family and especially being a special nonno to his adoring grandchildren. An ardent gardener Mr. Linari was very proud of his yard and garden and when not visiting beaches on Cape Cod and in Florida he enjoyed the simple pleasures of a beautiful sunny day spent in his backyard.
In addition to his beloved wife of 43 years he is survived by his devoted children Scott R. Linari and his wife Monica of Dedham, Carin H. Tessier and her husband Dale of North Attleboro and Stephanie J. Linari and Tom Daley of Mansfield. He was the dear brother of Angela J. Seaver and her husband Gene of Keene, New Hampshire and Dr. Ronald F. Linari of Franklin. Bob is also survived by his cherished grandchildren Jack and Eric Linari of Dedham, Hannah and Emma Tessier of North Attleboro, Zachery Daley of Mansfield and the late Abigail Daley, also surviving is his brother in law Hans Becher and his wife Gloria of Wisconsin and he was the uncle of Keith, Eric, Stacey and Michael.
His funeral, to which relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend will be held on Tuesday April 21st at 8:00 A.M. from the Sherman & Jackson Funeral Home 55 North Main St. Mansfield followed by a Mass of Christian burial celebrated at 9:00 A.M. in St. Mary’s Church 330 Pratt St. (Route 106) Mansfield. Burial with military honors will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Mansfield.
Visiting hours will be held on Monday April 20th from 5-8 P.M. at the Sherman & Jackson Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers Bob’s family has requested that donations in his memory be made to the American Lung Association 25 Spring St. Walpole, MA 02081.
