The beloved husband of Ann T.(McDonagh) Cotter. Father of John Cotter of Quincy, Ann Marie Shaheen and her husband Bruce of Groton, William M. Cotter and his wife Susan of Medfield and Barbara Scenna and her husband Steve of Londonderry, NH. Brother of Corrine Manchester and her husband Paul of Punta Gorda, FL. and Mary Ann Protasowicki and her husband George of Lynnfield. Cherished grandpa of Shannon, Salvatore and Steven Scenna and Gina & Michael Cotter.
William was born in Chelsea and grew up in Dorchester. He moved to Quincy in 1993. William worked as a electronic technician for many years. He was a voracious reader, avid history buff and enjoyed traveling. William was a devoted husband, father and grandfather who truly enjoyed his children and grandchildren. He will be sadly missed by all those who had the pleasure of knowing him.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours Friday from 4 - 8 PM in the Keohane Funeral Home, 785 Hancock Street, QUINCY. A Celebration of Life Service will begin at 9:15 AM Saturday in the funeral home followed by a Funeral Mass in Holy Trinity Parish in Our Lady of Good Counsel Church, Sea St., Quincy at 10 AM. Burial in Blue Hill Cemetery, Braintree. Donations in memory of Mr. Cotter may be made to the Beacon Hospice, 15 Allerton St., Roxbury, MA 02119.
