Roger E. Richer 85, passed away Sunday April 12, 2009 in Miriam Hospital. He was the beloved husband of Alice (Godin) Richer. Mr. and Mrs. Richer celebrated their 60th Wedding Anniversary, January 29, 2009. Mr. Richer was born in Woonsocket a son of the late Donat and Lucia (Roy) Richer. He served his country in the Navy as a Seabee in the Pacific during WWII. Mr. Richer worked for Westcott Construction Co., retiring as a Millwright Foreman. He found pride and joy in his marriage and loved spending time with his wife. He was a generous and thoughtful man who had a great love and respect for his family, as they did for him.
Besides his wife he leaves a son, Daniel Richer and his wife Gloria, of Lake Mary, FL, two daughters, Jane Hill and her husband Bruce, and Gail Archetto and her husband Michael, all of Lincoln, two brothers Robert and Gerald Richer of Woonsocket, four sisters Estelle Richer of Bellingham, Muriel Cote of N. Smithfield, Vivianne Ayotte of Blackstone, and Jeanne Morin of Woonsocket, five grandchildren, David Richer of Lake Mary, FL, Craig, Sarah and Christopher Hill, and Glenn Archetto all of Lincoln. He was also the brother of the late Raymond Richer.
His funeral will be held Saturday at 9:00 AM from the Fournier and Fournier Funeral Home, 99 Cumberland St. Woonsocket with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM in St. Joan of Arc Church, Mendon Rd. Cumberland. Burial will be held in St. James Cemetery in Manville, Visiting hours are Friday 5-7 PM.
