Charlotte Brown, 91

Dateline: Mansfield, MA

Charlotte (Ulm) Brown, 91, a lifelong resident of Mansfield passed away on Tuesday April 14, 2009 at the Sturdy Memorial Hospital in Attleboro. She was the beloved wife of the late Frederick W. Brown who died on November 11, 2002. At the time of Mr. Brown’s death the couple had been married for 61 years.
Born in Mansfield, MA on March 23, 1918 she was a daughter of the late Charles and Mary (Janes) Ulm.
She grew up in Mansfield and was a graduate of Mansfield High School. A dedicated homemaker to her loving family, Charlotte had attended and was a member of the Christian League at the First Christian Church in West Mansfield.
Mrs. Brown enjoyed reading and gardening, the many wonderful summers spent in West Yarmouth and spending time with her extended family.
She is survived by her devoted sons Frederick C. Brown and his wife Bonnie of Mansfield and Barry W. Brown of Plymouth. She was the loving grandmother of Keith Brown and Stephen Brown both of New Mexico, Matthew Brown of Middleboro and William Brown of Mansfield. She was the dear sister of the late Carl Ulm, Marion Collins and Ada Schromm and is also survived by several great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services, to which relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend, will be held on Monday April 20th at 11:00 A.M. at the Sherman & Jackson Funeral Home 55 North Main St. Mansfield. Burial will follow in the Spring Brook Cemetery, Mansfield.
Visiting hours will be held on Friday April 17th from 4-7 P.M. at the Sherman & Jackson Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, Charlotte’s family has requested that donations in her memory be made to the Alzheimer’s Association Massachusetts Chapter 311 Arsenal Street Watertown, MA 02472.
