Norman A. Bellemare, age 88, died unexpectedly on Sunday, April 12, 2009 at his home in Lowell. He was the husband of the late Loretta (Gauthier) Bellemare.
He was born in Lowell on Jan. 28, 1921, the son of the late George and Claudia (LeBel) Bellemare. Norman was a lifelong resident of Lowell and a communicant of the former St. Jean Baptiste Parish.
Prior to his retirement, he was employed with A. H. Notini and Sons of Lowell and also worked in various shoe shops in Lowell earlier in his life.
Norman loved music and played in a band in his younger years. He enjoyed playing for his fellow seniors at Jaycee Place in Lowell and other senior residences throughout the city.
He is survived by a step-son, Leo Blais of Vermont; several cousins includng Norman LeBel of Lowell and Gloria Ally of Rochester, NH; his godchild, Suzette Murdock of Danville, NH; also several nieces and nephews.
At his request, there will be no calling hours. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend a Prayer Service on Wednesday morning, April 15 at 10 o'clock at the Chapel of St. Joseph Cemetery, Chelmsford. Interment to follow.
