Obituary

Ewart Connor, 61, of Tifton died Monday, April 13, 2009, at Celebration Hospital in Celebration, Florida. Graveside funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, April 17, 2009, in Oak Ridge Cemetery. Rev. Terrell Roberts will officiate with burial to follow in Oak Ridge Cemetery. Darrell Fletcher, Tommy Griffin, Johnny Henderson, Charles Purvis, Hugh Purvis and Wesley Purvis will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Johnny Purvis, Sherrod Rogers, Mike Gill and retirees from United Parcel Service. The family will receive friends on Thursday, April 16, 2009, from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. at Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals.

Mr. Connor was born on November 26, 1947 in Tifton and was the son of Ewart Randolph Connor and Malone Purvis Connor, both deceased. He was a retired feeder/driver with United Parcel Service and of the Baptist faith. He served in the United States Army from 1966-1968 and was deployed in the DMZ in South Korea. He honored God, his family and country by the life he lived and the service he gave. He will always be remembered as a beloved brother and uncle to those he left behind.

Mr. Connor is survived by two sisters, Barbara Minter of Tifton and Connie McGarian of Orlando, Florida; and one niece, Cara McGarian of Boston, Massachusetts.
