Obituary

LEOMINSTER- Alfred T. Christianson, 90, of 6 Beth Ave, a retired newspaper compositor, died June 28 at UMass Memorial Medical Center - University Campus.

He leaves his wife of 65 years, Ruth E.H. (Johnson) Christianson; a son, Peter T. Christianson of Fitchburg; a daughter, Andrea R. Christianson of Harvard; a grandchild; several nephews and nieces. He was born in Worcester, son of Theodore N. and Hilda M. (Lundin) Christianson. He graduated from Worcester Trade School.

Mr. Christianson was a compositor for the Worcester Telegram & Gazette and The Christian Science Monitor for many years, retiring in 1970. He was an accomplished barbershop quartet singer and was a devoted member of the Society for the Preservation and Encouragement of Barbershop Quartet Singing in America.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, July 2, in the Church of the Good Shepard, 10 Wachusett St., Fitchburg. Burial will be private. There are no calling hours. Nordgren Memorial Chapel, 300 Lincoln St., Worcester (www.nordgrenmemorialchapel.com), is directing arrangements.
