WORCESTER-Mary C. (Dixon) Dow, 82, of Worcester, died Sunday, April 12th in UMass-Memorial Medical Center. Her husband of 60 years, Ronald E. Dow, died in 2006. She leaves two sons, Ronald W. Dow and his wife Kathleen of Worcester and Bernard E. Dow and his wife Angela of West Boylston; a daughter, Maureen E. Rolla and her husband Mike of Hubbardston; a brother, Robert Dixon of Las Vegas, NV; six grandchildren; ten great grandchildren; nephews and nieces. A brother, Bernard J. Dixon, predeceased her.
She was born in Worcester, the daughter of Bernard J. and Elizabeth G. (Portle) Dixon and graduated from the former High School of Commerce and Salter Secretarial School. Mrs. Dow, along with her husband, founded and operated Independent Garage Door Company. She was a member of Our Lady of the Angels Church. She and her husband organized Squadron VT82 meetings for many years. Mary’s family would like to extend their deepest gratitude to the Sisters of Notre Dame and the staff of Notre Dame du Lac for their loving care and compassion.
The funeral is Thursday, April 16th from O’CONNOR BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 592 Park Avenue, with a Mass at 10:00 A.M. in Our Lady of the Angels Church, 1222 Main Street. Burial will be in St. John’s Cemetery. Calling hours are Wednesday, April 15th, from 4:00 until 8:00 P.M. in the funeral home.
