Laconia -----Annabell Ellen Cartier, 77, of 934 N. Main St., died at the Lakes Region General Hospital, on April 11, 2009. Mrs. Cartier was the widow of Rudolph A. Cartier who died September 5, 2008.
Mrs. Cartier was born February 27, 1932 in Laconia, N.H., the daughter of George and Muriel (Merrill) Demar. She lived most of her life in the Lakes Region and was employed at Annalee Dolls Inc., for four years before retiring in 1980.
Mrs. Cartier volunteered at St. Vincent De Paul for many years and was a communicant of St Joseph Church, Laconia. She enjoyed painting, writing songs and poems.
Mrs. Cartier is survived by 14 children, Cindy Gray, Brenda Rowan, Kimberly St. George, Karen Jacobs, Kelly Hunt, April Sturgeon, Jodi Cannuli, Peter Marceau, Terri Marceau, David Cartier, Susan Cartier, Elizabeth Edmondson, Amy Briggs, Kim Snow; many grandchildren and great grandchildren; a brother, James Mooney, and two sisters, June Houle and Kathleen Sweeney. She was predeceased by a son, Richard Gray, and two daughters, Deborah A. Gray in 1970 and Kathy L. Gray in 2008.
Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, April 15, 2009 from 6:00pm-8:00pm in the Carriage House of the Wilkinson-Beane-Simoneau-Paquette Funeral Home, 164 Pleasant Street, Laconia, NH.
A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, April 16, 2009 at 10AM at St. Joseph Church, 30 Church Street, Laconia, NH by Rev. Gary J. Kosmowski, Pastor of the Church.
Burial will follow in the NH State Veterans Cemetery, 110 Daniel Webster Highway, Boscawen, NH.
