Loring H. Jackson III, 61, of Derry, NH died Sunday June 29, 2003 at his home. He was born in Boston, MA on February 20, 1942 a son of Mabel (MacMeeken) Stefaniak and the late Loring H.Jackson II. Mr. Jackson had resided in Derry for the past 30 years, formerly living in Newport, NH and Natick, MA. He had been employed by the Natick, MA Police Department and the Newport, NH Police Department. He later worked as a consultant for the Massachusetts State Police. He retired as Captain from the Derry Police Department where he was employed from 1972 - 1992. He was in charge of running the Sheriff’s Department at the Manchester airport and most recently worked for Riley's Gunshop, Hooksett in law enforcement sales. He was a former member of the Derry Rotary Club and was the past president of the Derry Village Rotary Club.
In addition to his mother of Lakeland, FL, he is also survived by his wife Mary (O’Callaghan) Jackson of Derry, three sons, Scott Jackson and his wife Michelle of Manchester, Kevin Jackson and his wife Jayne of Auburn, Robert Jackson and his wife Ronna of Manchester, one daughter, Elizabeth Robidoux and her husband David of Goffstown, nine grandchildren, Connor Jackson, Jonathan Robidoux, Brendan Robidoux, Hannah Robidoux, Meaghan Robidoux, Matthew Jackson, Ryan Jackson, Brian Jackson, Ashley Jackson, also one brother, William Stefaniak, Lakeland, FL.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday July 2, 2003 at 10:00am at the Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 15 Birch Street, Derry with cremation to follow. Friends may call at the funeral home on Tuesday from 2 – 8 PM. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, Gail Singer Memorial Building, 360 State Route 101, Suite 501, Bedford, NH 03301-5032 or to the American Diabetes Association, NH Affiliate, PO Box 31160, Hartford, CT 06150-1160.
