Obituary

Arminda P. “Mamai” (Pina) DaRosa, wife of the late Jose J. DaRosa, passed away at Morton Hospital on April 10, 2009.
She was 90 years old.
Born in Brava, Cape Verde, she was the daughter of the late Antonio and Maria (DePina) Pina.
Educated in Cape Verde, she came to this country in 1960 and was employed by the Rennie Curtain Factory for over 28 years, retiring in 1989.
A communicant of St. Anthony Church, she enjoyed spending time gardening.
Mrs. DaRosa adored her family and cherished the time spent in their company. She will be sadly missed.
Survivors include 4 sons, Manuel DaRosa and his wife Debra of E. Taunton, John DaRosa and his wife Lisa, Olavo “Bill” DaRosa and his wife Barbara, and Alceu “Tony” DaRosa, all of Taunton; 3 daughters, Maria DaRosa and her husband Alvaro of Taunton, Linda Foley and her husband Michael of E. Freetown, and Amy DaRosa of Taunton; a brother Oliveiro DePina of New Bedford; a sister, Ecilda Fortes of New Bedford; 12 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
She was also the mother of the late Eugenia DePina and the sister of the late Joao and Caitano DePina, Fracesa Macedo and Maria Lima.
Her funeral will be held from the Silva Funeral Home, 80 Broadway on Tuesday April 14th at 9:30 a.m. followed by a funeral mass at St. Anthony Church at 10:30 a.m.
Burial will be at St. Joseph Cemetery.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend.
Calling Hours will be Monday April 13th, from 5 to 9 p.m.
