Obituary

THOMPSON - Ronald A. Renaud, 63, passed away Thursday, April 9, in UMass/Memorial Healthcare, Worcester, surrounded by his loving family.

He leaves his wife and soul mate of 41 years, Jeanne A. (Lefebvre) Renaud; his precious daughter, Robin M., wife of Jason B. Graves of Webster; a sister, Rita Kliss of Nashua, NH; a brother, Arthur Renaud of Florida; and 2 grandchildren whom he cherished, Veronica and Bradley Graves.

He was born in Southbridge, a son of Z. Arthur and Theresa (Solodyna) Renaud. He lived in Webster before moving to Thompson in 1983. He graduated from Bartlett High School in Webster and from Worcester Polytechnic Institute in Worcester.

He was an Air Force veteran of the Vietnam War. He also served in the National Guard until 1983.

Mr. Renaud worked as a cost estimator at Hyde Manufacturing Company in Southbridge. He retired in 2001.

He was a man of many interests. Belonging to the Custom Kings, he enjoyed cars, especially his 1958 Chevy. He loved to fish, play soccer with his daughter, and create beautiful art. Ron had a true love of music, always listening with sentiment. His love of computers couldn’t go unnoticed.

But first and foremost, he was a family man. He was everything any man would drean to be for his family. He touched many hearts. He leaves many deeply-loved nieces and nephews; a sister-in-law, Elaine Fafard of Webster; a brother-in-law, Mark Mozdzierz in Florida; his “adopted mother” and mother-in-law Rita Mozdzierz of Webster; and his dearest friend for more than 30 years, Penny Nieminski of Thompson. He also leaves his beloved felines Sonny and Gizzy.

He had the greatest laugh and all who knew him found joy in his company. He was an amazing man who will be greatly missed. He often said his foremost achievement was being a “pepere” and he was a great one.

He left a note that depicts his true thoughts for his family, as well as his family’s thoughts for him: “Just as much as ever, I love you.”

The family would like to express a special thank you to the staff at Hubbard
Regional Hospital in Webster and also to the staff at UMass. Hospital 7th Floor ICU.
