MILLBURY__Jozef Stanley Gruszka, 65, of Millbury died Sunday, April 5, 2009 in St. Vincent Hospital, 123 Summer St., Worcester. He leaves his wife of forty-one years, Barbara (Kozaczka) Gruszka; a son, John W. Gruszka and his wife, Laura of West Henrietta, NY; a daughter, Elizabeth Boggs and her husband, Jeff of San Diego, CA; two brothers, Kazimierz and Zdzislaw Gruszka of Poland; two grandsons, Matthew and Aiden Gruszka of Auburn and many nieces and nephews. He was born in Lysakowek, Poland, a son of Jan and Wladyslawa (Klich) Gruszka and immigrated to the United States in 1968.
Mr. Gruszka was a welder for All Fab and Steel. He was educated in Poland and served in the Polish Army. Jozef took pleasure in spending time with his family and friends. He was fond of traveling and photography. He especially enjoyed Hawaii and all things related to Hawaii. He was a fervent reader and enjoyed gardening and flowers and the birds that came to visit. Jozef was an artisan who worked with wood and steel and was always fixing things.
The funeral will be held on Tuesday, April 14, from HENRY - DIRSA FUNERAL HOME, 33 Ward St., Worcester, with a Mass at 10:30 a.m. in Our Lady of Czestochowa Church, 34 Ward St., Worcester. Burial will be in Notre Dame Cemetery, Worcester. Calling hours in the funeral home are Monday, April 13, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m.
