BERARDI, Elaine (Leonard), of Winthrop, April 9, 2009, at the age of 83. Beloved wife of the late Dominic Berardi and former wife of John Barry of Salem. Born in Boston, she was the daughter of the late John and Katherine (McCarthy) Leonard. Devoted mother of Eileen Barry Johnson and her husband Bruce and Thomas Leonard Barry of Winthrop, Kevin John Barry and his wife Marcella of Pleasanton, CA, and Patricia Ann Vernstrom and her husband Jon of Hagerstown, MD. Sister of Claire Teska of Cork, Ireland and Denver, CO, and the late Eugene Patrick Leonard and Catherine Callahan. Adored grandmother of Jessica and Kiel Barry. Also survived by many nieces, nephews, and friends. Visiting hours will take place from the Maurice W. Kirby Funeral Home 210 Winthrop St, WINTHROP, on Tues, April 14, from 8-9:45am, followed by a Funeral Mass in St. John the Evangelist Church at 10am. Relatives and friends invited.
